Hello there,

This is my new attempt at blogging. I tried my hand at beauty blogging, but there are people who do it much better than me, so I thought i'd write about something closer to home....me!

Confessions of a yummy mummy.

The main confession is that i'm not a yummy mummy. A mummy I am, but not so yummy anymore. After the birth of my first child last year i've sort of, well...let myself go a bit. I used to have nice long, blonde hair, nice clothes and always make an effort with make up. Now, i'm a stone heavier, with shoulder length brown hair (which I hate). I won't even start to describe my wardrobe, after vowing to lose weight all year THEN buy new clothes, I have finally realised I am going to have to settle at my current size and go for a new style. Hence me throwing nearly all my clothes away last week.

After moping for the past six months, I sat up and declared '2012 is the year of me' (possibly the most over-used new year line). This year I am getting me back, starting with sorting my appearance out. This blog will be documenting my journey, and my transformation back to something like my former self, along with the ups and downs of motherhood.

I've taken a great interest in mums in the media this year and have taken inspiration from many people, more recently Amanda Harrington from Desperate Scousewives. No matter how much people may slate the programme you have to admire Amanda. She always looks gorgeous, well presented and has made a career for herself whilst looking after her daughter.

I do think it takes time to settle into motherhood, but now i'm settled i'm raring to go. I'm looking at nail courses, looking for wardrobe inspiration, and growing my hair.
